Jeez, Christos. I haven't yet played Dragon Age, but I can't help but feel like I simply don't pay enough attention to the background stories of games after reading this post. Was really interesting reading your insight into the Grey Wardens.

I'm not sure how much longer I can avoid getting this game. But it sounds like by the time I relent, you'll still be playing it. I haven't seen you not playing it in the last week, come to think of it, you crazy addicted person you.

Ah man, now I want to play as a Dwarf!

I agree fully with everything you expressed here. The game started so slowly and if I'm honest I was a bit bored for the first few hours, perhaps it was my origin story. I decided to play as something different to what I would usually choose - an Elf rogue - and played as an Elf mage instead. Despite being a bit dull, the backstory was actually interesting and I found myself wanting more.

I do feel that there are a few clichés within the plot, but then what doesn't nowadays? I'm around 13 hours in now (it would be a lot more, but reviewing Left4Dead 2 has stolen my time) and the story is becoming more involving, side quests are interesting and NPCs make me chuckle and rage in equal measure. All in all it's a great game, better than I thought it would be, particularly after that slow beginning.

I think you nailed the game on the head though, now I might have to find some time on this lazy Sunday afternoon to play some more.
